FVMBA receives IMBA grant for $1000.00

In April of this year, we held a trail day on Ledgeview, putting in a new section of trail that should remain in place after development on the mountain eats most everything else. As well, in working with the city, we identified some trails that will also remain as they are within the future green spaces & parkland.

Signage, however, was a problem, as the funds were not available, either from our coffers, nor from the city of Abbotsford.

So, as FVMBA is an associate member of IMBA, we applied for grant to complete the job.

Today, we received word:

Dear Kona/IMBA Grant Applicant,

I am happy to inform you that Kona and IMBA have chosen your group to receive a $1,000 grant to support your freeride project. Thank you very much for your passion for riding and pushing the envelope of riding opportunities in such a progressive and responsible manner. It truly is groups like yours that are helping create the future face of the sport by providing opportunities to a broader spectrum of riders and placing those opportunities in full view of the community.

In the very near future, IMBA will cut your group a $1,000 check.

Congratulations and thanks again for all you do for mountain biking. We look forward to seeing and riding your finished product.

All The Best,
