Recap of the Giant Killer trail day

Thanks to everybody came out! We all know that the people who worked on Giant Killer this past weekend gave up an amazing riding day, weather wise, to help the trail keep running.

Special thanks both to Experience Cycling and Maple Ridge Cycle. You guys came through for us all year, even on short notice. (more…)

Tree down on Shotgun

Thanks to the wind storm that rolled through a week or so ago, there’s a big tree down on Shotgun at the Woodlot, just before the trail cuts across the FSR and enters the clearcut.

It’s a big one and you should be careful when climbing across // around it.

Trees down on Hekyll and Jekyll

There are two trees down at the Woodlot on Hekyll and Jekyll. These logs are about halfway down the trail and are pretty big, so keep an eye out!

They’ll be removed shortly.

Trees down on Eric Dunning trail

There’s some decent cross country riding in Golden Ears Provincial Park, but the riding trails haven’t seen any work for a long time (so much for those parking fee revenues propping up any area other than the campgrounds…).

Eric Dunning Trail

There are a fallen trees about halfway down the trail. They’re on a semi-blind corner, so please be aware if you’re riding through there. Also, the main access road, leading up from Mike Lake has been deactivated for safety reasons (unstable slope), so your only access is a grunt up the trail.

The rest of the trail has seen better days and tonnes of water have really done a number on extended parts of the line.

FVMBA promotional video

Local filmmakers Brock Anderson and Cam Miller put together a video featuring some of our local trails to show before the NWD 8 premiere. They only had a week to do it and came up with something great.
