January 22: Gerald went up Vedder mountain; road repair is under way!
Here’s the current status:
1) Culvert wash out between 1st and 2nd wye repaired
2) Gravel pit where dirtbikers park at 2nd wye cleaned up
3) 2nd wye, new crossditch/swail is being put in
3) Fixing wash out above 2nd wye
4) Another new culvert at higher wash out
According to a fellow from EAM who was in charge of the whole operation, the culvert replacement above the 2nd wye is as far as they’re going, they will NOT be repairing the road wash out further up. The road will be driveable if you have 4×4. There will be 2 new crossditches going in, one above 2nd wye and another below 2nd wye, just after the old pavement. Dirtbikers will lose access to parking in the gravel pit, a new drainage ditch will be put in across the front of it. The theory is that MoF probably wasn’t too impressed with all the garbage and burnt crap in there.
