Woodlot : Current conditions
Not too much deadfall, but there was snow yesterday and again today. Many of the lower trails are rideable but they’re pretty slippery. Not sure about the stuff at the powerlines and above.

A cougar and two cubs roaming around the Woodlot today. Make sure you travel with a small dog or slower riders.

The biking on Ledgeview was never really a big issue until the large jumps came in. I don’t think a lot of riders realize that the property is (mostly) privately owned. If someone came into my backyard and built a massive gap jump and then all the neighbourhood kids came and rode it, I’d be freaked out (it’s bad enough having a trampoline). So I can see how the Vicarro ranch owners feel about what’s going on.
My hope is that when the jumps come down, everyone does their part and stops building new ones. It seems like every time I ride Ledgeview someone has dug up a bunch of dirt to build another stunt. If you feel the need to ride that stuff, there are plenty of spots around to do so. Or build them along the Sandy Hill gas pipeline right-of-way if you feel the need to create new ones.
I hope I’m not coming across as a grumpy old cross country rider. I enjoy riding these trails, and my son has started to enjoy them as well. I’d just hate for everything to be gone because of a few overzealous builders.
