Women’s Mountain Bike Instructional Series

Join the Fraser Valley’s nationally certified coach Denise Britton for a great time of instruction and fun. Crank up your existing skills with a women’s only clinic designed for riders of intermediate skill levels.

Dates and time

The clinic will take place over a span of six Saturdays and will be held rain or shine. The scheduled dates are 15 March, 22 March, 29 March, 5 April, 12 April, and 26 April (note the two week break before the final session).

The clinics will take place between 10:00am and 12:00pm.

Meeting and payment location

Location: Apollo Athletic Club, #201 - 3600 Townline Road, Abbotsford, BC, V2T 5W8

Cost: Apollo members: $75.00 + GST; non-Apollo members $85.00 + GST

The deadline for registration is 13 March 2008.

Additional information

The series includes: direction from a nationally certified instruction, handouts, an obstacle course, trail rides, sign-up packages, a bike shop tour, and much much more!

Are you qualified to participate in this clinic?

You’re qualified to participate in this series if you have a couple years of experience riding cross country, and have some beginner downhill experience. You are comfortable on double and single track trails with moderate inclines and declines but you are uncomfortable on steep declines, small drops, small jumps, and riding narrow man-made features.

Dates: May 15, 29,June 5,12,19, and July 3

Time: 6:00pm-7:30pm

Cost: Apollo members: $70.00 + GST

Mountain bike skills clinic at the Abby Indoor

The Fraser Valley Mountain Biker's Association is hosting a couple of indoor mountain bike dirt clinic at the Abbotsford BMX track. Clinic information as follows:

• 29 January 2006 (Sunday). Time: 2-6pm. Cost $30. This session is targeted at beginners and intermediate-level riders and features skinnies, low ladders, and some BMX track riding. It will be coached by Chris Glew and Steve Romaniuk. Price includes lunch.
• 12 February 2006 (Sunday). Time 2-6pm. Cost $30. This session is for intermediate and advanced riders and will focus on more skinnies, ladders, and dirt jumps. Coaches will be announced shortly. Price includes lunch.
• If you would like to attend both clinics, we are offering a reduced rate of $50 (you save $10). People signing up for both clinics also receive a complimentary FVMBA membership (a $20 value)

These clinics are open to all riders (not just FVMBA members). You can sign up by showing up in person at the Abbotsford BMX track or by e-mailing Gary.
