There's a new DH race course on Red Mountain!
Race the 2007 Arduum Challenge, 20-21 October!
arduum: steep place, the steep
challenge: something that by its nature or character serves as a call to battle, contest, special effort, etc.
The trail "Arduum" itself started out as two trails built "back in the day" We hiked these trails, looking for a good DH training course. When we realized that the combination of the two would give us everything we wanted (steep, techy, off-camber, rooty, and some flow) we built a connector and started reworking them. The finished product was this trail. We rode it a few times, had some friends ride it and we all agreed, we couldn't keep it a secret, we had to share this one. We decided to host a race. Just like that??
Nope. The decision to do the race happened six weeks ago. Lots of hoops to jump through, things to look after, trail to perfect but we did it. The "Arduum Challenge" has come to life. Take this as your call to battle one another and "The Steep."
Check out www.arduumchallenge.com for details!
As of September 26, 2007:
There's active logging on TimeKiller right now, with trees down both above and below the new road cut about 1/2 way down.
Please stay off the trail until they are done.
We are really disappointed - we all knew this logging was coming, but in our discussions with the logging company, they weren't going to carry on the work until December. The whole point in keeping us informed is so we can put the word out, and try to ensure riders stay off the mtn for a while. There's nothing worse than a tree falling on your head, or meeting a loaded truck around a blind corner.

Westside DJ has improved again.
FVMBA would like to thank all those that have helped out with the construction of a new, larger starting hill. An original expectation of 30 lok blocks and 2 days of labour turned out to be 50 blocks, 4 days, and 10 huge truckloads of topsoil.
Next up is a safety rail, and the construction of a bigger set to make the current big set look small.
We’re thinking of putting on another big jam this fall, so keep an eye out.
Thanks out to:
Mike Boughner and Lafarge.
Eric Anderson of Mission
Little Mountain Mike’s dad for the topsoil.
And all others.
We’ve got plans for something similar in Abbotsford, but no set timeline yet.
More pics will come, but for now….. the wall.
