Get up to date on the most current trail conditions.

This section is THE place for official trail condition updates for many of the riding spots in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge (Woodlot), and Mission. Unless specifically stated, you can assume that the trails are open and running.

Please respect trail closures -- the builders spend a lot of time getting the trails running well and, occasionally, a closure gives them the time to put the trail back in great running order.

Chilliwack
Vedder Mountain
(a)General Conditions - Jan 6 lots of trees cleared from The Luge trail after Mexican Ninja.Tree cleared from Mango Mango. One big tree still down on Mango Mango and will be used as a future reroute and won't be moved until then. Please be patient.Tree removed from Femur also. Would like the riders to email us more often when they find trees down or anything that needs fixed as we don't get to all the trails all the time.
Chain Crazy - On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 5 on the technical level. This trail does not have much flow but your sure to enjoy getting from A-B the whole way. It's a mix of dirt-bike/mountain-bike trail until the tech section that has great skill testing skinny's without the "f'd for work factor". A great run of up hill ladders to 4-6ft drops will test out the suspension on that new bike or for the guys who havn't beaten themselfs up enough, you can rip on the hard-tail as well.
Dilema - Fast w/flow, lots of built stunts for all levels of ability. You can easily shuttle this trail or for those without wheels, a hike or bike is not impossible (20-30min). You will find there is a way around each stunt and there will be no suprise drops or corners for the rippers who just like to go fast.
Femur - Old school singletrack trail that has an increased fun factor with the recent addition of several berms to the sharper corners. Not many stunts but the very recent addition of a hip jump is a sign of good things to come;)
Hidden Pleasures - Sept 25, 2006: Reports are that previously mentioned problems with woodwork and dust erosion have been repaired. Have at 'er!!
Mexican Ninja - Mexican Ninja is a great trail, one of many built and maintained by an FVMBA member. This trail is smooth and flows well...that is, if you manage to link up some of the trails more technical stunts. Make sure your skinny's are up to par or you may have to walk some small sections of trail connected by these style of stunts.
R.E.F.R - R.E.F.R. Or to the few who know it as, "Roach's Escape From Reality" Is a trail built and manitained by an FVMBA member. Coined as one of the "Best" trails on the mountain you will have to know someone who knows someone to get a chance at the action!! Here's a hint....."LOOK FOR THE 4x4's"
Mission
Woodlot
All trails - The Woodlot trails are many, and all built to very high standards. This has been accomplished through the efforts of a dedicated core of builders that have spent uncounted hours working on the trails. As a result, the Woodlot has become known far and wide as one of the best riding areas in the world. Through negotiated agreements, the FVMBA will be assisting the existing builders in their efforts to keep the trails in good shape, and assisting with the administrative tasks that will become necessary in the near future as MoTSA continues it's cataloging, approval and funding of Mountain bike and other recreational trails in BC. Trails descriptions to follow shortly
Red Mountain
Arduum - The trail "Arduum" itself started out as two trails built "back in the day" We hiked these trails, looking for a good DH training course. When we realized that the combination of the two would give us everything we wanted (steep, techy, off-camber, rooty, and some flow) we built a connector and started reworking them. The finished product was this trail.
Big Red - The trail is in good shape right now except for a couple trees down as of Sunday March 4th. Will be clearing them hopefully this week.
Red Mountain XC course - March 2, 2007 Update coming soon.
Bear Mountain
Bear DH course - March 2, 2007 Anyone riding the Bear Mountain DH course will be able to notice that there is a lot of work going on. Berms are being rebuilt, the old doubles are gone and new ones are framed in, drainage work and reverse grades are being done. Please watch for builders and loose soil and rocks. When we are working we try to leave the trail rideable BUT after a 12 hour day out there, mistakes happen and a rock or two will get missed. If you want to help, please pile rock near the newly framed in doubles as we will need it to fill in the jumps. Thanks.
Bigguns - March 2, 2007 This all natural trail is for Intermediate and above riding levels. Some technical traversing with roots and rocks, but well worth the effort. Same for the downhill part of the trail. 'Old school' all the way! Update coming soon.
Jolly Rancher - March 2, 2007 Update coming soon.
