August Trail Crew Update

It finally feels like summer and we’re grateful for all of the incredible trails we have to enjoy. Trail crew has been busy in Mission on Bear and Red continuing to clear drains, repair the trails, and replace old wood work.

The past rain really highlighted the areas that needed improved drainage and the crew tackled several problem areas on Pioneer Connector before the heli logging began.

On Merv’s the focus was again finding ways to separate water from the trail. Enjoy the new boardwalks and rock work to keep you out of the muck.

Lower Little Death got raked top to bottom with all drains cleared and an old boardwalk replaced. The crew also added an entry and exit to a beautiful log ride provided by Mother Nature.

Over on Red, the two old bridges on Hell’s Bells were replaced and the crew raked Redneck, Big Red, Better Red than Dead, and Crazy 8’s top to Bottom, again clearing drains along the way.

Work by the FVMBA Trail Crew on Bear and Red is financially supported by the District of Mission and a Canada Summer Jobs grant as well as your FVMBA membership dollars!
