FVMBA’s mandate is to help builders create new trails everyone can continue to enjoy for years to come. After all, why put in all that hard work to have your trail be destroyed by traffic, erosion, and potentially unsupportive user groups or land managers. We have several projects on the go in various regions with-in the Fraser Valley, and you can get involved in a big way to contribute.
FVMBA helps supply builders with land manager approval, planning, tools, training, manpower, construction materials, and heavy equipment.
Does that Trail Suck?
Do you find some area on a trail requires work, is eroded, or impossible to ride? We urge you to first get in touch with an area representative first to find out who is responsible for that trail. Each trail network has builders/maintainers and they may have plans already in place to deal with a problem area. Sometimes “problem” areas are actually trail features or challenges on technical trails, and so removing them may cause an outcry. There are builders out on the trails weekly, and not all their work days are advertised. If there are no builders/maintainers working on a trail, you may be given the privilege to take responsibility for a trail.
Found the Perfect Line?
Do you want to build a rad new trail? If you have never built a trail before, we suggest getting in contact with your local representative in Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, or Maple Ridge. They will help you get started, and consult with you on how your trail can incorporate into any future plans for the area.
