To all trail users – but specifically trail maintainers and builders. We received notice from the District of Mission Forestry Dept. that we are in moderate fire hazard rating currently (July 15th). While this is the official rating for only the Mission Tree Farm, the same advise and caution should be used for all regions.
It would be wise at this point to restrict saw work to only before 1pm. And a one hour fire watch after completing saw work. Anyone using gas-powered tools, you should have a fire extinguisher, shovel and 8 litres of water available during all saw work & gas powered brushing at this point. Electric brushing is less risky for fire hazard, but caution should be exercised as well.
We will be notified when all mechanical trail work should cease and will relay on our website, our social media and on Trailforks. Questions? Contact your local trail rep and they will help you out.
