If you’ve had the chance to ride, run, or hike at Heritage Mountain lately, you may have noticed the smell of fresh cedar on Glen’s Trail. We are very happy to share that the recent trail repairs are funded by the City of Mission, whom we recently signed a contract with for trail maintenance in the network. Work will be on-going over the next several months, with more bridge replacements, water management, and brushing to come.
In July 2021, The City of Mission, the Province of B.C., and the Leq’á:mel, Matsqui, and Sumas First Nations signed an agreement to return 60 hectares of land to the three First Nations. A portion of the land parcel, encompassing the trail network at Heritage Mountain, will be leased to the City of Mission and will be managed as community park and recreational area.
