Reporting Trail Issues – How to Help!

Trail Crew Update – Fall 2023
December 22, 2023

Snow (or the threat of it) getting your ride time down this time of year?  Trails are already wet and with a coating of white stuff, that puts us on the couch…or does it? Do you know about Fraser Valley’s lowest elevation trail network – the Heritage Trails in Mission.  They are the FVMBA’s first major partnership with a municipality, the City of Mission, with an annual maintenance contract to keep the trails cleared & tuned. They have seen a massive overhaul during the past two years of the agreement.

This past year specifically has seen hundreds of FVMBA Trail Crew work hours complementing hundreds of FVMBA volunteer hours too.  Reroutes & bridge rebuilds and regular haircuts for the bushes & brambles means hero conditions for this oft forgotten network. Plus there’s fresh signage to help you navigate the twists & turns. The sign project hit a vandal-snag and is nearing re-completion, but most trails and intersections still have official signage.

Right now, the trails are in immaculate condition.  The volunteers and Trail Crew went out and leaf blew every trail in the network (save one for OG Glen’s leaf riding pleasure :).  They are minty fresh and with the low elevation, stay snow free the longest.

Give them a go this winter.  You might find your new favorite loop.
