Hi I’m really interested in this job posting but I am just wondering if the 24 hours a week can be done outside of school hours, like on weekends or after school? Thanks, Peter

    • Penny Deck says:

Hi Peter, thanks for your message. Unfortunately we need the whole team (all three positions + supervisor) to be able to work the same hours and our crew usually works 8 am to 4 pm for three days during the week. Cheers, Penny

The restriction on age limit is extremely unfortunate 😔😑😕 what is the reason you guys have cut the age off at 29? Myself at 37 would love to be able to be apart of this crew. Along with so many others above the 29 yr old threshold.

    So disappointed!!!

    • Penny Deck says:

      Hi Teresa,
Thank you for your message. The age restriction is not set by the FVMBA but by the government grant through which we are able to fund the position. Funding is provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement. It is a Community Workforce Response Grant in the Youth Community Partnership stream. The grant sets the eligibility requirements for the position with the specific aim to support youth in BC. It’s very similar to the Canada Summer Jobs program in that regard. Unfortunately we do not have any flexibility to adjust the eligibility requirements. A news release from the government about the funding is here: https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2020AEST0036-001185
