RUN FOR OUR VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS IN 2023

Our 2023 Director elections will take place at our AGM on January 29th, and we have a total of 6 Director positions up for election. We’re looking for keen, passionate folks who want to make a difference in the riding and trail community!

The FVMBA Board of Directors consists of 11 volunteer members working together to provide strategic leadership to ensure that the organization achieves the mission of the member community.

  • Directors are elected for 2-year terms.
  • Specific duties are flexible, and dependent on the skills and interests of applicants don’t hesitate to apply!
  • Board members can expect to put in anywhere from 8-30 hours a month towards their respective duties/roles throughout the year (varies by role and time of year).
  • All board members may participate in a variety of activities such as supporting trail builders and trail days, helping out at events, leading and/or participating in committees, etc. It’s a team effort!

Several current board members will be standing for re-election, but there will be new seats to fill.  We are searching for new Board Members who may be interested in helping with any of the following:

  • Leadership in the Mission or Maple Ridge riding area.
  • Treasurer succession planning – an opportunity for a financial professional with leadership experience.
  • Development and/or coordination of events.
  • Recruiting and co-ordinating volunteers.
  • Developing opportunities for youth.

If you are passionate about Fraser Valley trails and want to get involved through a board position, apply by January 26th.  Please fill out this application form! Please note your profile will be posted publicly for FVMBA members to vote on.

FVMBA believes that our mandate to enhance the trail networks and engage the trail user community is best served by leadership from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Anyone who has a passion for the trails and wants to contribute to the governance of FVMBA is encouraged to run for a position on the Board. We particularly encourage Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minority groups, and women to run for election, as these groups continue to be under-represented on our Board.

If you are interested in volunteering with the FVMBA in a different capacity, please let us know by filling out this form.
