FVMBA is partnering with CyclingBC to offer an opportunity to join the ranks of the Sprockids leaders of the Fraser Valley. CyclingBC will be hosting a weekend of training in Mission on Feb 3 & 4th: https://cyclingbc.net/iride/get-involved/coach-iride-sprockids/.
This session will give you a Level 1 NCCP certification in basic ride skills coaching and a full day of Sprockids Leader training delivered by the legend himself – Doug Detweiler.
FVMBA is offering a limited number of free seats in this program to help get new programs running in the Fraser Valley. If you would like to lead the next generation of riders in your community, please send a message to sprockids@fvmba.com and let us know who you are, where you live and why you’d like to get involved. By taking the program, you’d be committing to volunteering to be a Sprockids leader for a 6-8 week program in 2018. That is a 1-day per week commitment for the length of the program. We already have a program in Mission, and a new one is starting in West Abbotsford this Spring – offered by another group, but still a Sprockids/iRide program that we support! We’re looking to add one or two more in the region and need new leaders in the existing ones too. Once you’ve completed the initial program, you have fulfilled your commitment and we can discuss where you’d like to take things next.
The iRide/Sprockids Leader program is well defined and makes it easy to teach kids how to ride and ride well. You’ll have more fun than you knew possible as well as learn some riding skills that you didn’t know were missing!
